art

We loves the arts! For many (many) years, if we bought a piece of art (we have lots of signed prints) that we had no place to hang at home, the response was "We'll hang it in the cabin!" We even joked about having no windows to accommodate all of the art. We didn't do that (thankfully), and we still have a HUGE wall downstairs that we plan to cram with prints.

So let the tour begin!

LIVING ROOM: This is the grandmaddy of them all: Dolly Parton's "Pour Myself a Cup of Ambition" by local street artist truth. I passed by truth's original on the way to work some mornings (depending on which direction my robot overlords tell me to go), and it always put a smile on my face: the colors, the Dolly, the message (see below). So I reached out to commission a painting of it. [paint on wood; signed; 2022]

LIVING ROOM: This is by Charles "Chuck" Hancock of The Amazing Hancock Brothers, a brotherly duo out of Austin and McGregor, Texas. They are printmakers and painters and come from the Outsider Art movement (most of our art is arguably from this movement). This one reminds me of The Bride's sister (RIP). [paint on wood; signed; 2022]
